DURING THE past 42 years, The Yonsei Annals led  the campus English journal in Korea and set a new standard for campus globalization. I believe that the Annals plays a role of campus English journal with the purpose of pursuing truth and freedom in accordance to the educational ideals of Yonsei Univ. The Yonsei Annals has also helped to enhance the reputation of Yonsei as the most internationalized university in Korea.

As the current Faculty Editor of the Yonsei Annals, I would like to congratulate all the people who have been involved with and contributed to the development of the Annals. Since early 1990s, the Annals has organized the International Division and continuously dealt with worldwide issues. Moreover, other divisions of the Annals focused on covering various social affairs and campus news with a critical eye. In September 2004, the Annals opened the new website for keeping pace with the information age.

I firmly believe that the Annals will continue to grow in the future in tandem with the university's globalization strategy for the 21st century. In other words, The Yonsei Annals will be at the center of Yonsei's ambitious drive toward taking the leadership in adopting the highest possible global standards in academic programs, facilities, and comprehensive educational visions.

Despite the Annals having grown in status, there still is a long road ahead to go. In order to achieve the current position of the Annals firmly, the members should be ready to listen to the opinions of the readers.

In style, content, and accuracy, our magazine continues to pursuit the top quality among others, taking pride in itself in the name of Yonsei. Once again, I am proud to be the Faculty Editor of the Yonsei Annals, and I again congratulate its 42nd anniversary.
