AS PEOPLE living in a democracy, we all have the right to vote. These votes represent our voices, our political messages, our demands for changes in society sent out in hopes that they will be heard and appreciated. This principle of voting is accordingly applied to Yonsei's election of the SA (Student Association). Considering Yonsei's size and scale, it is only natural that several student representatives act upon the interest of the 20,000 or so Yonseians. Also, regarding that it is just these few students being in charge of all matters regarding student issues, it is inevitable that their decisions and actions may not completely satisfy everyone. Conflicts are bound to arise. The main task would be on how to reduce these disagreements and take a step closer in making all students happy.

In this aspect, The Yonsei Annals asked Yonsei students their current opinions on this year's SA through an online survey conducted in April and May. Being composed of questions about a controversial subject perhaps caused it to spark several issues itself. Some thought that the questionnaire was too much in the SA's favor, whilst others thought that the survey was completely biased against them. The Yonsei Annals is neither for or against the SA but merely sought an objective viewpoint and fundamental resolution to the tight conflict between the SA, the school and the students.

As fellow students of Yonsei, we should all strive to achieve the best for ourselves, and for the school. As representatives acting in the interest of all students, the SA should also remember this goal and take steps in accomplishing it. Are the SA's actions currently for the full benefit of the students? Are the students supporting the SA as their representatives? Let's hope that the answers to both questions are a yes.
