BREATHTAKING ACCIDENTS could happen anytime, anywhere in life; choking in the middle of an elegant dinner or a sudden heart-attack. What would a person in those situations do other than just calling the 119? If he or she had learned the CPR from the Severance Hospital on Sept. 19, 2007, a precious life could be saved before 119 arrives. The CPR program is held on the third Wednesday of every month.

This month’s CPR lecture went on for one hour and a half on the second floor of Main Hall in Severance Hospital. Lecturer Ahn Su-jin says, “CPR can save victims of cardiac arrest by compressing patient’s hearts and making blood flow.” Any people who are interested in first-aid can apply for the education. It provides information of how and when to perform CPR. Since the program is a recent one, visitors can get a thorough explanation of CPR and actually experience it.

Emergency situation could happen anytime in people’s lives. In order to avoid those situations, being always prepared is very important. By getting the CPR training, a person might be able to save a precious life. Why don’t you try it next month?
