WOMEN LEADERS Forum took place on Oct. 31, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Engineering Hall Ⅱ, room 201. The theme of the program was “Woman Engineer’s Dream and Vision,” aimed to educate female students of Col. of Engin. Three lecturers were invited to give short presentations related to the topic.

The forum began with short speeches from Lee Sang-jo, Head of Col. of Engin. of Yonsei Univ., and Han Kyung-hee of Engineering Education Reform Center. The first lecturer was Lee Young-ok, a deputy-chief of KOPEC (Korea Power Engineering Co., Inc.), who stated how women should behave as expert manpower. Next was Ahn Lee-whan, chief professor of KIGEPE (Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education). She explained the current situation of gender equality in Korea and how it could be improved. The last speaker, Kwon Ji-hyang, a professor of Environmental Engineering at Konkuk University, shared her experiences of studying abroad. The forum ended with questioning and answering.

As most of the students in the forum were seniors, it greatly benefited these future women engineers through indirect experience of their upcoming way lying ahead.
