AS THE month of March swept past, a number of grave issues stirred the lives of students in Shinchon Campus. The issue of introducing credit cards as a method of paying tuition was one, as well as a lawsuit between a student organization and Yonsei Univ. regarding transparent financial management.

In these times of graveness, which will only worsen due to the imminent mid-term exams in late April, The Yonsei Annals, through its April edition, aims to provide a break from such reality by discussing issues that will not be dealt with within a classroom; issues that will enlighten your mood and broaden your knowledge at the same time. The 2nd edition of the Annals this year will provide an interesting insight into how 1,000 Yonseians understand and view “sex” through this month’s Cover Story, as well as looking at the new cultural trend of fusion in Korean traditional housing. Also, to let us know that there are plenty of people that face much graver times that us, Today’s Affairs introduces an article to enlighten those who care to know more about NGOs and what a student can do to give hope to those less fortunate than us.

Once in a while, one must be able to lighten up and open one’s eyes to things that are not within the immediate reality. Do so with this month’s Annals, and I hope it will provide some comfort and rest during the uncomfortable mid-term period. Good luck everyone!
