I was impressed by the column “Hidden Voices” in the April edition of the Annals. It was about McRefugees. Nowadays, homeless and unemployed people are rapidly becoming McRefugees. They do all the things - eating, sleeping, and resting - in one place: at Mcdonald’s. They truly “live” in Mcdonald’s fast food restaurant. McRefugees’ lives are far below the minimum standards of life. Relief measures are being executed, but there are no visible effects; still the Mcrefugees’ lives are too hazardous and unprotected. Especially during the night, their lives get more risky. I think the government should be more alert about this problem and establish true measures to protect them from danger. Moreover, I think people who are not McRefugees should also be considerate about taking care of them. By doing these things, I think they could find their hope and lead their lives.
