STARTING FROM Aug. 4, the Division of Education & Exchange is recruiting Korean families and foreign students for the Homestay & Host Family Program and the Buddy Family Program. The families of students or staff at Yonsei Univ. can take part in these programs with foreign students affiliated to the Yonsei International Program.
The Homestay & Host Family Program provides a chance for Yonsei families to invite a foreign student to their home for one semester. The Buddy Family Program, on the other hand, is for Yonsei families who wish to have regular meetings with a foreign student for a semester. Through these programs, participating families and foreign students are able to make cultural and linguistic exchanges with one another.
"Last year, we arranged 15 matches for the Homestay & Host Family Program and 43 for the Buddy Family Program. This semester, already 45 families called to sign up for either of the programs," says Michelle Choi, Global Lounge Deputy Manager and coordinator for the two programs.
