Creative Young Writers at Work
The center for New Humanities of Yonsei Univ. held the Humanities Essay Contest on April 5 at Widang Hall. This contest was held to spark students’ interest in the field of humanities and promote literary education. The winners of the contest were provided with scholarship.

 

Toilet Culture Improvement
The Yonsei Imagination Factory of the Student Association collected catchphrases, proposals, and names for toilets from March 24 to April 6 in order to make better use of toilets. This project was aimed at improving the toilet culture of the campus.

 

The Exhibition of Korea’s First Licensed Doctors
Yonsei Univ. Medical Center presented the Centennial Anniversary Exhibition of Korea’s First Licensed Doctors. The exhibition, which introduced the progress of medical history in Korea, was held at the Centennial Hall from April 1 to 30.

Yonsei Woman Leader’s Action Plan
The Women Student Association is convening the 2008 Yonsei Woman Leader’s Action Plan contest. Any group of undergraduate female students who want to plan and carry out an activity as woman leaders are welcome to apply from May 6 to 12. For more information, visit ywnet.yonsei.ac.kr.

AKARAKA
During the *Daedong* festival, AKARAKA will be held on May 15. The event will start from 5 p.m. in the Amphitheater with the participation of many celebrities and Yonseians. This year, VIP standing seats will be allocated to some students.

 

 

International English Writing Competition (IEWC)
The preliminary contest of IEWC will be held on May 24 under the auspices of Yonsei Univ. and The JoongAng Ilbo. The application deadline is Friday, May 5. Students from grade 3 in elementary school to college senior can apply and contests will take place in designated sites nationwide. For more information, please refer to www.iewc.co.kr.
