As I was a freshman under the hakbuje, in other words, the integrated system, the article about the department-based system was very interesting for me. I totally agree with the idea of implementing the department-based system. I had to endure the fierce competition to enter the department I wanted to study in just like Kim and other students in the article. I also had a hard time taking the required courses that were beyond my interests. This article thoroughly revealed the hardship that the freshmen had under the integrated system. Moreover, it not only illustrated the present situation but also indicated measures that should be taken for the future. I think this article was very informative and illuminated the students' interests. I hope for a good start of the department-based system in 2010. It will bring a brighter future for Yonsei University.
